Quick and Easy Meal Plan Challenge

Cooking at home has become increasingly popular in the past 10 years, a fact that does not favor the restaurant world.
For someone who is willing to put some effort towards preparing their own meals, there are so many options available. Think meal kits, meal plans or frozen meals. But sometimes having too many choices can be confusing.

What keeps people from cooking their meals

Here are the most common obstacles that keep people from experimenting with cooking:

  • Time is a major factor for people who work full-time. Coming home late after work or the gym, you want dinner to be ready asap.
  • Inspiration for cooking a delicious meal can be a roadblock when you don’t know what to cook. Too many choices or too many ingredients may cause overwhelm.
  • Then there is clean up… No one wants to spend an hour cleaning the kitchen after a long day.

All these reasons may snuff out any inclination to get your pots and pans out to start meal prep. What if I told you that it doesn’t have to be that complicated?

Cooking doesn’t have to be hard

There is a solution for everything and if you get the basics down, you can handle any meal prep challenge to enjoy your tasty home cooked meal.
Here are some ways to help you out.

  • Curb your ambition to cook that 20-ingredient dish that looks oh-so-yummy; just go for quick and easy. Select recipes that are done in less than an hour. Advance meal prep will save time too.
  • Don’t be afraid to try recipes with unfamiliar spices and herbs, you might be surprised. Get a small quantity of new spices and herbs from Spicely to test the flavor first. (affiliate link for organic spices/herbs)
  • Be efficient using your kitchen tools. Wash and reuse spatula, knife, bowls and pans as you go. You’ll have less dishes to wash and can finish the rest after dinner.

Why you want to start cooking your own meals

Look, most people do not want to slave hours in the kitchen, but if you are organized and have a plan, preparing your own meals is very doable. There are many advantages too:

  • You’ll know what goes into your food, so it will be fresh and healthy.
  • You decide what’s for dinner by switching or adjusting recipes and avoid boring.
  • You may enjoy home cooking and make it a new hobby if meal prep is not so time consuming.
  • You will save a lot of money too, serving two tasty meals at home for the price of one at a restaurant.

Meal plans and a challenge for the willing

There are many meal plans available and the variety is endless. Choose one that best fit your taste and lifestyle. Do you like to experiment with dishes from around the world but don’t know where to start?

Here’s where I’m going to help you out.
After cooking our own meals for years, I came up with the idea to share recipes from my collection with quick and easy meal plans based on international cuisines. To get you started, I created a meal plan challenge with easy to follow recipes that will introduce you to dishes from the global kitchen. Most recipes are for meals ready in an hour or less.

When you register, I’ll send you an email each week with a meal plan that includes just one dinner, one side and one dessert for two, plus planning or prepping tips. My goal is to get you started with a home cooking experience that will keep you coming back to the kitchen over and over again. Are you ready and up to it? All you have to do is sign up below.

Once you’re done with the challenge of the week, share a picture or tell us about the experience. Were the recipes easy or taking too long? Did you like the flavors or not at all? Would you try again next week?

Can’t wait to hear from you!
